3 Membership Recruitment  Our first social at CJ Cannon’s had 42 in attendance (all members)  Bring a potential member to the next social at Pareidolia

4 MOU Vote  Fellsmere continues to be listed in the bottom 300. Last year we ratified an MOU regarding adding an extra hour to their day.  This year, the district realized they could get the extra hour of reading instructional time by adding only 15 minutes to the students’  The MOU we will be voting on is adjusting the previous language to meet this goal on the early release day, September 23 rd.

5 Negotiations As of 9:00 PM Friday. September 11 th, we have completed negotiations for the 2015-2018 contract. Liz Cannon will be setting up dates to come around to the schools to talk about the contract in the coming weeks. We have not set up a voting date.

6 Negotiations What we have agreed to…  $900 per year added to each increment of the salary schedule. This is in addition to our performance pay increases. This is a guaranteed increase over the next three years!  Beginning in 2016-2017, increase the work day by 30 minutes; administration is only permitted to use 60% of that time, the rest is available for teacher planning.  Increase the board contribution to health insurance by $18 per pay period (increase of $432 per year)  Differentiated pay will be 5% of federal funds (no strings attached) with reopener if additional schools added in subsequent years. 7 Negotiations What we have agreed to…  ESE Compensatory adjustment  if MBU teaching non-VAM class can document that a student was absent for at least 10% of instructional time, student shall be removed from roster upon request  Clarity to Performance Deficiency definition & procedures  VAM cut scores (statute)  Supplement committee recommendations  We kept AC teachers renewed for earning HE or E, added contingency for discipline resulting in suspension

8 Negotiations What we have agreed to…  Big wins on observation procedures in Article IV –MBUs must receive written feedback on any element scored D/B/NU, if the element is in Domain 1, MBU must receive description of what “went wrong” and specific suggestions for improved performance  If any element is scored D/B/NU, next observation cannot occur until at least five days after receipt of written feedback (unless MBU and evaluator agree to waive)  “Additional observations” can only occur “within a mutually agreed upon timeframe”

9 Negotiations What we have agreed to…  Grievance timeline: informal discussion must be initiated within 15 days of the later of either:  When the alleged contract violation occurred  When the grievant should have known that the alleged contract violation occurred  Evaluation grievances are an exception – the timeline does not start until receipt of summative evaluation result  Any portion of evaluation (e.g., IPS) may be grieved before then
