7 19-Dec-15 Circular motion – notes An object stays at rest or moves at a constant speed in a straight line unless a resultant force acts on it. A resultant force must act on an object to change its direction of movement. To make an object move in a circle a force must act towards the centrs of the circle. This force is called a centripetal force.
