3 Tasks; Use pages 236-237. 1.Explain fully (with help of a diagram) what centripetal acceleration is. Explain why it is an “acceleration” despite the fact that speed may not change. 2.Explain why we call the force on a spinning object centripetal force, and not centrifugal. 3.Write down a discussion of the FACTORS affecting centripetal forces AND explain how these factors affect some everyday examples (eg cars, the cup experiment etc) 4.Attempt ALL summary questions. 5.Extension = page 241, exam questions (in full).
