3 True/False Scholarship Quiz 1. Thousands of dollars of local, state and national scholarship monies go un-awarded each year. 2. A student with average grades and ACT scores who works hard and contributes to his/her school and community is a good candidate for scholarship awards. 3. A motivated senior will apply for up to 50 scholarships during his/her senior year. 4. Most scholarship monies come from the college you will attend. 5. A $250 scholarship can buy your college books for an entire school year. 6. Students and parents who pay a fee for a scholarship/financial aid service are “scammed”. 7. You have a better chance at local scholarships than national scholarships. 8. Most scholarship checks are mailed directly to your college AFTER you’ve provided “proof of enrollment”. 9. You must know how to organize your scholarship search to be successful. 10. Nearly every scholarship requires: a) Resume; b) Essay; c) 3 Letters of Recommendation and/or d) Transcripts.
