What is ocean modelling? The ocean (like the atmosphere) is composed by a (newtonian) fluid that can be -quite well- studied using one some basic laws and a couple of principles…. - F=m·a - Conservation of mass, temperature (energy) Seems feasible …. And forcing, and assimilation….? BUT N-S equations are hyperbolic-type…..so we need, to set up initial conditions
