2. Band Members Chris Martin lead singer was born on the 2 nd of March 1977. He was born in Devon, England and his the eldest of five children. His aunt Elizabeth married Julian Sandys, Winston Churchill's grandson. Guy Berryman, bassist was born on the 12 th of April 1778,Kirkcaldy, Scotland. Aside from Music has an interest in photography, fashion and electronic gadgets. He is a fan of his local football team Raith Rovers FC.

3. Band Members Will Champion drummer and backing singer of Coldplay, born 31 st July 1778 in Southampton, England. He learned to play the violin and piano when he was 8 and he learned to play guitar when he was 12. Before he joined Coldplay he played in a band named Fat Hamster. Jonny Buckland lead guitarist and co-founder of Coldplay was born on the 11 th of September 1977. He was born in Islington in London but when he was four he moved to Pantymwny which is a small village just outside of mold!

4. Background. The band came together in 1996 by lead vocalist Chris Martin and lead guitarist Jonny Buckland. They were called Pectoralz, Guy Berryman joined the group as a bassist and they changed their name to Starfish. Will Champion joined as a drummer and a backing vocalist. In 1998 they then changed the band name to Coldplay as it is known now.
