The “Yellow Generator The integrity of the “yellow generator” architectural language should be kept intact, simplicity and clean lines are the key to developing the design of the interior spaces. These spaces should remain as blank canvases for the display of architectural and interior design projects. The reading room has become the “multifunction room”. This is where some of the students’ and faculty’s most important events take place. We welcome visitors, display our projects and receive feedback, conduct informal lectures and workshops, study and most importantly develop professional relationships.

The “Yellow Generator http://www.tschumi.com/projects/12/ The orientation of the fenestration in the building envelope towards the east & west exposures makes the rooms vulnerable to solar heat gain. This is especially true in the critique rooms, where the afternoon west exposures increase the temperatures tremendously. Building Site Conditions

The “Yellow Generator In the reading room sunlight can be controlled with electronically operated roller shades. They are made of fabrics that are “Greenguard” certified for indoor air quality. We are suggesting the transparent options that come in a variety of colors and they maintain the view while efficiently managing the effects of the sun. Sunlight

Bernard Tschumi Architects Beijing Residence 2004 The “Yellow Generator Inspired on Bernard Tschumi’s design. Our version is constructed with Homasote and covered in fabric instead of paint to take advantage of its acoustical qualities. They measure 13” in thickness as the existing angled walls next to the windows. The concept is based on the idea that the windows in the “reading room” are voids left there by the subtraction of these walls. Subsequently placed on the opposite side directing the sunlight towards the north-east. Space Dividing System
