Enclosure 3: 2. DoDSA/LWSP SPECIFIC PROCEDURES a. In addition to the procedures identified in section 1 of this enclosure, DoD Components will follow the DoDSA/LWSP specific procedures identified in this section. b. However the MILSTRAP legacy transactions (DIC DS_) cannot provide UII in the 80 record position constraints. Components must implement the DLMS variable length transactions to implement the DoD requirement to report SA/LW by UII Update DLMS 140A, SA/LW Reporting transaction, to authorize use of the UII data element. DLMS 140A allows for reporting by serial number and/or UII The PDC notes a possible disconnect, which may require further review, between SA/LW procedures which allow the DoD Registry to suffix an SA/LW serial number when duplicates serial numbers are found, and the IUID policy in the DoD Guide for Uniquely Identifying Items (Version 3.0, December 2014) which states that “the UII shall not change over the life of the item. Therefore, the component data elements of the UII shall not change over the life of the item.”
