6. Praxis & VCLAPraxis & VCLA  Register for and pass the Praxis Core and Praxis II tests. The Praxis II test required for admission is English Language Arts: Content Knowledge (5038). Passing scores on both the Praxis Core and Praxis II are required for admission into the program. Students can pass out of the Praxis Core exam with a state-approved SAT or ACT score. Students can pass out of the Praxis Core exam with a state-approved SAT or ACT score.  SAT as a Substitute for the Praxis Core Test:  SAT taken Prior to April 1, 1995 : a score of 1000 with at least 450 on the verbal and 510 on the mathematics tests ;  SAT taken After April 1, 1995 : a score of 1100 out of 1600 (not including the writing portion) with at least 530 on the verbal and 530 on the mathematics tests.
