Starting a New Chapter Advisor Resources & Checklists Conferences & Forms Dress Code

Complete the Chapter Organization Packet (fbla-pbl.org or lstephens@dpi.state.nc.us)fbla-pbl.orglstephens@dpi.state.nc.us Complete application Complete local chapter by-laws (template available on the national website) Recruit new members Pay state and national dues of $7 per student (at least 3 students)

Pay charter fee of $20 Submit application, membership list, local chapter bylaws, and payment Obtain an Advisor Resource CD from the state advisor, Lorraine Stephens Chapter Management Guide (NC FBLA conferences, Event Dates, Deadlines) Competitive Events Guidelines State Handbook (fundraising, chapter program of work, ceremonies, etc.)

ACTIVE MEMBERSHIP –enrolled in at least one business course, either semester, during the school year OR have already completed at least three business courses ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP –not taking a business course this school year and have not completed at least three business courses, Cannot participate in competitive events nor serve as an officer

MUST adhere to during ALL conferences REQUIRED for ALL students, advisors, and guests If attire is questionable, then don’t wear it. If not in proper business attire, students will be disqualified or not allowed to attend an event. NCFBLA Dress Code can be found on the Advisor Resource CD or the state website.
