Problem Statements Student involvement in campus life is currently unsatisfactory because students either get involved in various campus organizations and do not branch out, or they do not get involved at all. Students can feel alienated on campus due to their sexual orientation/identity and/or race and often feel discouraged to get involved.

Data 18th most homophobic school (Princeton Review, 2014) 4th for little race/class interaction (Princeton Review, 2014) Interview Data 23% are unaware of campus events 30% perceive there is a lack of diversity 38% feel excluded from some aspect/s of part of campus life

Contributing Factors Lack of Trinvolvement Divisions of race, gender, sexuality and socio-economic background present barriers to the social environment Separation, social stigma, and unequal resources between social organizations ○Perpetuates exclusivity Underutilized platform for communication

Social Organization Leadership Conference Forum for social organization leaders to meet and discuss campus climate Build relationships between student leaders Encourage inter-organizational collaboration Establish collaboration goals for each semester/year

Expand the Bantam Network Create ‘Nest’ liaison positions within organizations Work with Trinsition Fellows, RA and PRIDE leaders Advocate for one's organization--increasing first-year students awareness and interest in being more involved. Build stronger relationships between the upper-year and first-year students
