1 DEFENSIVE BACK DRILLS

2 To be a DB in Our Defense Know your assignment in our Defensive Schemes. Know where you align against each offense and in each defensive scheme we play. Be Disciplined Football Players Do your Job each and every play THERE ARE eleven, 6 second fights on each play…. WIN THE FIGHT!!!

3 Stance Master your stance with left foot forward and right foot forward Inside foot back, heel to toe, flex in ankle, knee, hip joints

4 Read Pedal Complete 5 of these from a left foot forward stance; and 5 from a right foot forward stance. Push off your front foot and skate your feet backwards, do not run backwards. Keep your body in a low position; this gives you leverage when the receiver makes a break. This is done for the first 3 steps.

5 Speed Pedal Complete 5 from a right foot forward stance and 5 from a left foot forward stance. After your first initial 3 read pedal steps; you go into a speed pedal (once you read pass). Keep the same pad level and body position Increase the speed of your back pedal and speed of your arms.

6 AROUND THE CLOCK DRILL Done to work on Receiving ability Each Partner complete 10 repetitions challenge the receiver…. THROW BALL PASSES!!! With a partner; stand 10 yards apart from each other. Throw the ball back and forth. If you catch it above your waste; make a diamond with your fingers, and look the ball in all the way to the tuck If you catch it below the waste; have your pinkies touch, with palms up; looking the ball all the way into the tuck.

7 Box Drill start at the red cone 5 times start at cone #3 5 times 1 1 4 cones: 10 yards apart Start in your stance (at red cone) Face away from the box; straight ahead Back Pedal to cone number 2 Sprint to cone number 3 Back Pedal to cone number 4 Sprint through cone number 3 2 3 4 DB
