4 Trachea Trachea Is the windpipe that air travels to the lungs Trachea

5 CILIA are hair-like structures in the respiratory system that trap dust and other particles.

6 MUCUS Is the sticky substance that lines the nasal passages and traps dust and dirt in the air you breathe.

7 The flap that covers the entrance to the trachea is the EPIGLOTTIS

8 The purpose of the Epiglottis is:  To prevent food and liquid from entering the trachea.  It is the flap that covers the entrance to the trachea when you swallow.

9 Air enters the lungs through two short tubes called Bronchial Tubes (Bronchi)

10 Small tubes that lead to the alveoli are called: Bronchioles
