2 2 1.Log into AscendSMS using your admin credentials 2.Select Parents Management (This will be the landing page when you first log into the admin account. Otherwise, select Users from the Home tab.)

3 Ascend SMS User Guide3 3. Select Add Parent/Guardian Profile

4 Ascend SMS User Guide4 4. Using the information provided by your registration forms on file at the school, complete all required fields for the birth parent for which the account is being created. Temporary entries can also be entered as shown to the right. The login ID, Password, and Confirm Password entry should be the same when creating the account. Select Single as the martial status so the other profile will not be required. The parent can update the profile after receiving their login credentials. Remember to Save.

5 Ascend SMS User Guide5 6. Find the newly created account from the Parent/Guardian List 7. Select the Link Students icon; a pop up window will show. ( The pop up may also flash and minimize. You may need to find the pop up window within your bottom task bar.)

6 Ascend SMS User Guide6 8. Choose the Homeroom class from the Select Grade drop down; click Find. 9. Click the link student icon in the row of the student to be linked with the parent account.

7 Ascend SMS User Guide7 10. The new parent account will display a 1 under the Linked Students column. 11. Click the number 1 to verify that the student has been linked to the new account.
