Definition progressive disorder of the nervous system that affects movement. tremor may be the most well-known sign of Parkinson's disease, the disorder also commonly causes stiffness or slowing of movement.

About Can not be cured Speech can be affected, slurred or softened. Nearly 1 million in US have Parkinson’s disease. (neurons) in the brain gradually break down or die Cause is still unknown. However, some research has shown that caffeine — which is found in coffee, tea and cola — may reduce the risk of developing Parkinson's disease. Green tea also may reduce the risk of developing Parkinson's disease. Some research has shown that regular aerobic exercise may reduce the risk of Parkinson's disease.
4
Technical Terms Parkinson's primarily affects neurons in an area of the brain called the substantia nigra. Some of these dying neurons produce dopamine, a chemical that sends messages to the part of the brain that controls movement and coordination Progression of Dopamine, causes body to uncontrollable movement. sign of Parkinson’s disease — clumps of a protein alpha-synuclein, which are also called Lewy Bodies — are found not only in the mid-brain but also in the brain stem and the olfactory bulb.
5
Causes Your genes. Researchers have identified specific genetic mutations that can cause Parkinson's disease, but these are uncommon except in rare cases with many family members affected by Parkinson's disease. Environmental triggers. Exposure to certain toxins or environmental factors may increase the risk of later Parkinson's disease, but the risk is relatively small.
6
Risks Age. Young adults rarely experience Parkinson's disease. It ordinarily begins in middle or late life, and the risk increases with age. People usually develop the disease around age 60 or older. Heredity. Having a close relative with Parkinson's disease increases the chances that you'll develop the disease. However, your risks are still small unless you have many relatives in your family with Parkinson's disease. Sex. Men are more likely to develop Parkinson's disease than are women. Exposure to toxins. Ongoing exposure to herbicides and pesticides may put you at a slightly increased risk of Parkinson's disease.

Nike & Michael J Fox Foundation Nike in announcing the debut of the self-lacing Nike Mag shoes in the spring of 2016. Made famous in the second installment of the BTTF trilogy, the Nike Mag shoes are the dream of Marty McFly fans everywhere. This exciting news builds upon previous collaboration between Nike and MJFF. In 2011, Nike hosted a 10-day auction of 1,500 limited edition 2011 Nike MAG shoes to benefit MJFF. The auction raised more than $9.4 million to support our efforts to help speed a cure for Parkinson’s and drew critical awareness to the importance of Parkinson’s research.
