PRONOUNS A pronoun is a word that takes the place of one or more nouns. ►Ex: The myth amuses Kim. It amuses her.

PERSONAL PRONOUNS A personal pronoun is a pronoun that is used to refer to people or things. ►Ex: "I stopped believing in Santa Claus when my mother took me to see him in a department store, and he asked for my autograph." (Shirley Temple)

SUBJECT PRONOUNS A subject pronoun is a personal pronoun in the nominative case. It is used as the subject of a sentence. ►Ex: She especially likes “Atlanta’s Race.”

OBJECT PRONOUN An object pronoun is a personal pronoun in the objective case. It is used as the object of a verb or a preposition. ►Ex: The librarian recommended it to us.

SUBJECT I You He She It We You They OBJECT Me You Him Her It Us You Them OBJECT PRONOUNS The object of a verb receives the action of the verb. The personal pronouns me, you, him, her, it, us, and them can all be used as the object of a verb. “Lisa likes cats. She likes to stoke them SUBJECT PRONOUNS The subject of a verb does the action of the verb. The personal pronouns I, you, he, she, it, we and they can all be used as the subject of a verb. “Lisa likes cats. She has four cats. Read the following passage. Pronoun Quiz Pronouns are words that take the place of nouns. Some pronouns take the place of nouns in the subject part of a sentence. Example: Louis rode the skateboard. He rode the skateboard.
