CSPR Questions?

Survey to Generate Title I Neglected and Delinquent Funds for 2016-17

Survey Generates Title I Funds  The survey annually counts eligible children in neglected and delinquent facilities/agencies in order to provide the USED with accurate information to: –calculate Title I, Part A school district allocations authorized by the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA); and –determine the amount states have available for State Agencies to operate local programs for at-risk children authorized by Title I, Part D, Subpart 1.

Eligible Agencies

Counting Eligible Children  Count children and youth age 5-20  Count children and youth with or without a GED or HiSET  Do not count students that have earned a high school diploma.  The director of education or his/her designee will determine the date (one day) to count children and youth between July 1 and Dec.10, 2015. –The date cannot be on a weekend or holiday.

Getting an Adjusted Enrollment  Count number of children and youth  Count number of educational days  Multiply the number of children and youth by the educational days  Divide by 180 Example: 100 Students X 230 School Days = 23,000 23,000 divided By 180 = 127.78 which is the adjusted enrollment

Summary of Survey Changes  Form has been shortened  Do not send the children’s names, dates of birth, and ages to the department.  Keep the survey, children’s names, date of birth, and ages on file at your agency.
