Shakers and Bakers A presentation by Michael Nottenkamper
2
We are building a custom gondola to fit a recording microphone and a barometer to record pressure and to correlate to altitude. Experiment
3
We believe that the air pressure will affect the pressure/amplitude of a transmitted sound wave. Reduced pressure would then result in reduced amplitude of a transmitted sound wave. Hypothesis
4
Procedure Record barometric pressure and correlated to altitude using Vernier Lab Pro software Simultaneously recorded a 5000 hz pulsed frequency produced from a small metronome exactly one inch from the microphone. Analyzed the pressure/amplitude of the sound waves using Vernier pressure analysis
5
Altitude Data
6
Sound Pressure data ● There were no significant changes in the sound pressure changes. The microphone did not pic up the metronome but was able to pick up human whistling.

Conclusion/thanks Thank you to my mentors and teacher for all the support thank you for letting me participate, is there any questions?
