The Portfolio Process Portfolios record 4-H’ers accomplishments in a project, leadership, community service & other activities for one year (January 1-December 31) Portfolios are scored separate from the demonstration and are broad based in focus Portfolio scores are 40% of a juniors final score & 50% of a seniors

are teaching tools for developing desirable character traits and life skills teach youth to help one’s self and also help others provide real experiences in making decisions are age appropriate & flexible for individual development include intrinsic & extrinsic rewards

1 -2 needs improvement 3-5 average 6-8 good excellent Converted to % thru computer program Each 4-H’er receives 2 portfolio scores for a possible: 200 points (senior) 160 points (junior)
