2. School Vision: Oakboro School will be a professional learning community where students are honored, learning is valued, and our school community is dedicated to the success of all. We will prepare students to be contributing members of a 21 st century society who value learning as a lifelong process. School Mission: Education for All in a Giving Learning Environment.

3. School Profile Oakboro’s population has grown from 329 to 392 in 4 years. The population of free and reduced children is at 53% which continues to qualify Oakboro as a Title I school. The school’s math and reading composite scores have been on a steady increase. During the 2008-09 school year, Oakboro met their AYP before being placed in School Improvement status.

4. Goal I: Stanly County Schools will produce globally competitive students with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes, necessary to be responsible contributing students. Improve Parent Involvement Maintain/Improve Academic Performance Integrate/Collaborate with all academic areas and stakeholders.

5. Objectives for Goal I Increase Reading Composite in grades 3-8 to 90%. (Alternate Assessment included) Increase Math Composite in grades 3-8 to 80%. (Alternate Assessment included.) Integrate science and social studies into 90 minutes of uninterrupted instructional time. Collaborate/Integrate technology to include skill sets at each grade level. All teachers in K-8 will complete the “moodle” for the writing assessments. Continue to strive for IMPACT model with technology instruction.

Goal V:SCS will be governed by 21 st Century support systems and will utilize federal, state, and local funds to provide operational programs that are designed to enhance the learning environment of all students, support student growth, and maintain clean and efficient facilities.
