October 26, 2015 Learning Goal: Participants will understand how to use the LCS Title I iPad Apps (applications) TA Professional Development Day Standards: Domain 1: Help students process new knowledge Domain 1: Help students practice skills, strategies and practices Domain 1: Chunking content into “digestible bites” Objective: After completing this learning session, participants will understand the basic use of LCS Title I iPad Apps to support classroom instruction. Essential Question: How can an iPad be used to support classroom instruction? Vocabulary: Home Button, Sleep/Wake Button, Home Screen, Status Bar, App(s), Tap, Gesture, Swipe, Brick, Icon Agenda Gradual Release I DO Introduce the LCS Title I Apps and their basic features WE DO Using an iPad, participants will explore the basic features of the LCS Core Apps YOU DO Explore the features of an app, ask others if they currently use the app and how they use it with students

Learning Goal & Scale Learning Goal: Participants will be able to identify and use an iPad and the LCS applications on it. Score 4.0 Given an iPad, the participants will be able to Select and use appropriate iPad apps with students in their classrooms Know which apps to use with which students and plan ahead for those students. 3.5In addition to score 3.0 performance, in-depth inferences and applications with partial success Score 3.0 The participant, without major errors or omissions, will understand and/or be able to: Select and use appropriate iPad apps with students in their classrooms 2.5No major errors or omissions regarding 2.0 content and partial knowledge of the 3.0 content Score 2.0 There are no major errors or omissions regarding the simpler details and processes. The participant will be able to: Select and use iPad apps with students in their classrooms. 1.5Partial knowledge of the score 2.0 content, but major errors or omissions regarding score 3.0 content Score 1.0 With help, a partial understanding of some of the simpler details and processes and some of the more complex ideas and processes. The student can: Select iPad apps. 0.5With help, a partial understanding of the score 2.0 content, but not the score of 3.0 content Score 0 Even with help, no understanding or skill demonstrated.
