Potential for CME to join value discussion The provider actively promotes improvements in health care and NOT proprietary interests of a commercial interest Continuing medical education enterprises need to understand and disseminate health informatics and bioinformatics— and use the information in improving health The collection, analysis, and synthesis of information derived from the care of patients (i.e., health information) and the application of the lessons learned from these data contribute to healthcare improvement Updated criterion rewards providers that teach about health informatics and how to apply the wisdom gained from health information to improve health and promote changes in practice
