Consumption of electrisity and production by wind, sun and hydro.
12
Full-load hours onshore wind
15
Very high share of RES in Norwegian electricity production Main challenge with regards to e.g. the EU Renewable Energy Directive in the transport sector -> Low political will to invest in renewables Great opportunities might provide limitations?
17
Economical incentives work!
18
Sales of electric cars in Norway are soaring (due to strong economical incentives) Need for rapid charging might create challenges for local grid capacity Decentralized electricity production and storage might be a cost-efficient solution to these challenges

Small scale and domestic power generation in Norway Yesterday: a curiosity for enthusiasts… Today: a distinct change due to stricter energy use regulations and new technology. Today: Game changing market introductions like the Tesla Power Wall. Tomorrow: Further game changers will be introduced. Future capasity and stability challenges of local grids – Will push incentives?

Project objectives Establish the first Norwegian test-site for domestic-size wind turbines. Test and validate the performance of domestic-size wind turbines under Norwegian conditions. Enabling other types of R & D activities connected to domestic-sized wind turbines and decentralized small-scale wind power production, both in cooperation with local universities and in cooperation with the industry. 1. Local verification of the performance of domestic wind turbines 2. Increased visibility of domestic wind power as an alternative to PV in high-wind locations 3. Development of integrated wind-storage concepts enabling distributors to provide customers with plug-and-play solutions
