Where Is Halite Found? Halite is from the sea. It is made when salt water evaporates from shallow puddles. Halite is usually found in salt lake city, Utah, and Searles lake, Calofornia. Halite is also found in ancient bedrock. picture; Searles lake.

How is Halite Used? Since halite is made of salt, it can be used as a food seasoning or for road safety in winter.

Interesting Facts Halite is actually made of salt. Halite is a mineral. If you use radioactivity on it, it will turn blue. when you brake it the cleavage is perfect, it brakes into cubes. The 2 varieties of halite are rock salt and hydro halite.

How is it Mined? They mine it by drilling holes into the salt, then they put hot water into it to dissolve the salt. And finally, you have halite.
