Where to present research Non-refereed Includes magazines, web sites, self published. In-house corporate research Advantages: Flexible Wide audience Can do what you want to do, and what clients want May be lucrative than refereed research. Disadvantages: Low prestige Little oversight May be biased or perceived to be biased

How to do non refereed Buy or at least look at possible publisher/presentation venue Query before you do the project Don’t send full manuscript! August 29, 2008 Jodi Holifield 4820 Gregory Jonesboro, AR 72401 Email: Jodi.Holifield@us.army.mil Rita Sadowiski Bridal Guides 2660 Petersborough St. Herndon, VA 20171 Dear Ms. Sadowiski: I truly enjoy your magazine and the versatility it provides. While planning my own wedding, your magazine and website provided so much useful information. The advice section that provides firsthand tips from previous brides is fantastic. As a photographer, I have shot many weddings, couples, teens, children, and infants. I have many candid photos that capture the intimacy and connection between two people at their wedding. I also have photos that capture special moments between couples, parent’s awestruck expressions as they hold or watch their child. I am including 15 sample photos on a disc for your review. Please feel free to keep my information and samples on file. If you have any interest in any of my photos or wish to see more, please contact me by email or phone. I will be happy to send you more samples. I look forward to hearing from you in the near future. Sincerely, Jodi Holifield
