2. Tuesday 18 th March Steering Group Meeting On the 18 th March the fifth Steering Group meeting was held in at Room 33 of Quai de Goole, Dunkerque. The meeting was chaired by Keith Lawson with an welcome, introduction and overview from Jean Schepman, Chief Executive of Institution Interdepartmentale des Wateringues. The partners gave updates on the progress of the work on their individual projects. A good part of the project was allocated to Communications and Final Conference. Discussions were held regarding the key speakers for the conference, workshops, toolkit and case studies. There was also a dedicated session to discuss the Education Activity and geocaching with updates from partners and the officer Hazel Newton. 3. Wednesday 19 th March The Second day of the Steering Group Meeting was dedicated to firming up the details regarding the Education Activity and the Education pack followed by a visit to the Tixier Pumping Station in Dunkerque. The partners learn about the pumping system at Texier Station, Dunkerque The trip also included a visit to the control facility that operates the water monitoring system for the Dunkerque pumping station. Modernisation of the system began in September 2013.This is part of the Floodcom project and will be used to develop a water pumping strategy.’ Water monitoring system in Dunkerque Partners were also shown the model created as part of Floodcom to demonstrate how the project will work and inform the public about the need and workings of the flood scheme.
