A deep gladness and delight that is not fleeting but enduring. Rejoices in God’s plans and purposes, God’s will and word, God’s justice and righteousness, God’s redemption of sinners and triumph over His enemies.
4
“My soul shall be joyful in the Lord; it shall rejoice in His salvation” (Psa. 35:9) “I will go to the altar of God, to God my exceeding joy…” (Psa. 43:4) “I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation” (Hab. 3:18) Isaiah 61:10-11
5
“We also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation” (Rom. 5:11)
6
Our joy should be a gladness that is pleased in the same things that please our Father. “Rejoice in the Lord always” (Phil. 4:4). Rejoice that we are called to make pleasing God our own ambition (2 Cor. 5:9; Eph. 5:17).
7
God desires men to repent (Ezekiel 18:23; 2 Peter 3:9). If the heavenly host rejoices over one sinner, we should (Luke 15:6-7, 10, 32). Rejoice in your own life-path of repentance. › Be glad for the challenge of being a man and servant of God (Gal. 6:14-15)
8
God seeks worshippers who please Him (Mark 7:6-9; Heb. 13:15-16). Rejoice in every opportunity to worship God (2 Cor. 9:7; Col. 3:16-17; 1 Pet. 2:5, 9).
