Danube Commission Budapest September 29 2015 Time is critical in logistics MAGEE 1968 Therefore the time intervals spent at border crossings for police inspection and customs are critical – At least as a hypothesis from the theoretical point of view. The time intervals are shown in hours:minutes as Min. Median and Max. The ranking is based on the Median value.

Danube Commission Budapest September 29 2015 Further Findings: Customs and border control do not work 7/24 everywhere, thus, if only one shift is working per day, if you don´t reach the time window of opening hours you‘ll loose one day! And one day equals at least to a financial loss of 1.200,- €. And because customs behaviour is difficult to predict not only because of the wide time span, 2 days usually added to round trip for self propelled vessels.
