 International political system is defined as:  "A framework within which a set of rules, principles, insinuations, activities are interrelated and interacted with each other in a manner producing certain patterns of international actors"

 Structure of the international political system:  Forms of influence and power relation which has three basic forms in the I.P.S they are:  -Uni-polarity/Bipolarity/Multi-polarity

 *Uni-polar system that there is mainly one state (pole) enjoying richful resources and capabilities to the degree that it can affect and influence the conduct and performance of the I.P.S. like the position of USA in the L.P.S. in the post-cold war period. Under such system the middle and small powers are limited to maneuvering bargaining.

 *Bipolar system means that there are two opposing states and competing big powers having the ability to influence the L.P.S and to deter and threaten each other.Ex,capitalism led by USA versus communism led by the former Soviet Union during the cold war era.Under Bipolar system, the ability of middle of middle and weak powers to bargain and maneuver increase.

 *Multi-polar system means that there is a set of states enjoying richful resources and capabilities which enables them to influence and affect the I.P.S.Ex, Balance of power system among the European states before and after the First World War.  Under multi-polar system, the ability of middle and weak states to bargain and to maneuver become larger.

 The role of the state as the principle actor in the I.R is manifested and reflected in its" Foreign Policy" towards the other actor in the I.R.  -Foreign Policy, can simply be defined as "A set of goals prescribed by the state to be implemented through a set of means in the interrelation of the state with other actors in the international arena"
