Culture Ellesmere Park High School Key Stage 3 Geography Geography forms part of our core curriculum offer and is designed to give our students a greater appreciation of the world that surrounds us. In Year 7, students follow a course that includes Planet Earth; My Place; Africa; Glaciation; Population and Urbanisation; Asia (including China and India). In Year 7, students can take part in the Culture visit to Castleton. In Year 8, students build upon the foundations laid in Year 7 and cover a range of topics, including Weather and Climate; Development; Russia; Economic Activity; Middle East; Rocks, Weathering and Soils; Geographical Information Systems. After-school revision sessions for Year 11 are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays as part of our Year 11 Study Programme. 5. Ellesmere Park High School Key Stage 3 History Students studying History encounter a variety of topics within lessons which are taught in a variety of ways. Students investigate the changes in Britain from 1066 to the twentieth century; how key events like the Holocaust shaped our world; why the Romans are still important today and why WW1 is still so significant even 100 years later. In Year 7, students consider the History of Salford, The Roman Empire and Medieval England. In Year 8, students will study the Tudors, Stuart Society, the Industrial Revolution and the Slave Trade. In Year 10, students study the World Peacekeeping 1918 - 1919, Hitler’s Foreign Policy, the Origins of the Cold War and the Roaring 20s in the USA. In Year 7, students follow a course that includes Identity & Difference and Islam.
