9. V. Honor Thy Father and Thy Mother - Ex. 20:12 Respect, revere, esteem Eph. 6:1-2 “Honor thy father and mother” Obey = honor Obey God

10. VI. Thou Shalt Not Kill Ex. 20:13 Human Life is Sacred Rom. 13:9 “thou shalt not kill” Gal. 5:19-21 - Murderers Matt. 5:21-22 – forbids the cause Hate

11. VII. Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery – Ex. 20:14 Marriage is protected Rom. 13:9 “thou shalt not commit adultery” Heb. 13:4 “Marriage is honorable” Gal. 5:19-21 “adultery, fornication”

12. VIII. Thou shalt Not Steal – Ex.20:15 To protect property Rom. 13:9 “thou shalt not steal” Rom. 12:17b “provide things honest” 1 Cor. 6:9-10 “thieves”

13. IX. Thou Shalt Not Bear False Witness - Ex. 20:16 To Protect a person’s good name Rom. 13:9 “thou shalt not bear false witness” Col. 3:9 “Lie not one to another,” Rev. 21:8 “liars”

14. X. Thou Shalt not Covet Ex. 20:17 Protect individual Rom. 13:9 Luke 12:15

15. Exodus 20:1-17 Have been taken Away We are not bound by them

16. 9 are repeated in the New Testament We keep these 9 because they are part of the New Testament, Not because they are in the original Ten Commandments.
