5 Examples Original Amount: 50 New Amount: 36 350 meters to 475 meters. $33,300 to $31,080 Students will find the percentage of increase or decrease

6 Finding the new amount Steps: 1.Multiply the percent as a decimal and the old amount to find the increase or decrease. 2.Add or subtract that amount from the old amount. Example: Andre sold 32.5% more dog toys this year that last year. Last year he sold 8,500 dog toys. How many did he sell this year? Students will find the percentage of increase or decrease

7 Examples 1100 is increased by 4% 24,700 is decreased by 13%. 26,000 is increased by 14.6%. Students will find the percentage of increase or decrease
