2 Problem  Design, construct and test a structure that will support 50 - 100 lbs.

3 Materials / Specifications  Cover the area of a 3 inch diameter circle  Be 1 ½ inches high  Have a 1 inch hole ( cylinder ) in the middle of the structure, from top to bottom.  One sheet of 8 ½ x 11 file folder paper  One foot of ¾ inch masking tape  One tablespoon of wood glue

4 Research  Describe each term as it relates to structures. Be sure to provide examples where applicable. Load Dynamic load Static load Compression Tension Elasticity Torsion Column (List 6) Tie Stanchion Beam Cantilever Composite material Ribs Stringer Corbelled Arch Vault Dome Buttress Truss Girder Catenary

5 Report  A standard design brief will be completed and typed up. Ensure to complete all necessary components as well as standard evaluation questions.
