Cellular Respiration also known as Aerobic Respiration also known as Respiration NCES 6 L 1.2 Kim Lachler Updated 2015
2
Cellular Respiration use of stored energy Plants use the stored energy at night. Consumers use the stored energy from plants to get their energy
3
Cellular Respiration Cellular Respiration is almost the complete opposite of Photosynthesis. There is still: raw materials a chemical reaction end products Our bodies do cellular respiration…. so think about what you need from plants and what we give to plants.
4
Raw materials Glucose (C 6 H 12 0 6 ) = sugar = food Oxygen (6O 2 )
5
Chemical reaction Happens inside the plants and animals cells (including our cells.) Is this a plant or animal cell and why?
6
End Product Water (H 2 O) Carbon Dioxide (CO 2 ) Energy
7
Cellular Respiration Chemical Formula C 6 H 12 O 6 + 6O 2 ---- 6CO 2 + 6H 2 0
