An adjective is a word that is used to modify a noun or a pronoun.
Adjectives An adjective is a word that is used to modify a noun or a pronoun. It does this by telling what kind, which one, how many or how much.

Nouns or adjectives? Some words that can stand alone as nouns can also be used to describe nouns and pronouns. Example: nouns: summer, door adjectives: summer school, door frame

Demonstrative adjectives
This, that, these, and those are used as adjectives and pronouns. When they are used to describe a noun or pronoun, they are called demonstrative adjectives.

Common and proper adjectives
Common adjectives are generally not capitalized. Proper adjectives are formed from a proper noun and are capitalized. Examples: Common Adjective: Did you see beautiful butterflies? Proper Noun: The butterfly is found in Africa. Proper Adjective: The African giant swallowtail is a large butterfly.
