3 Objective  By the end of the lesson you will be able to identify three types bullying.  You will also be aware of ways to prevent and/or stop bullying.

5 Bullying Definition  Bullying is aggressive behaviour which is usually hurtful. It may continue for weeks, months or even years. Most of the time individuals are bullying to in order to be dominated or intimidated.  Bullying can be physical, verbal, and/or cyber. http://tinyurl.com/qjlmer8

6 Different Types of Bullying Physical bullying: hitting, pushing/shoving, and/or kicking others Verbal bullying: saying derogatory words statements which make to others feel bad Cyber bullying: posting pictures or videos of others (usually inappropriate) without their permission http://www.elkgrove- laguna.net/index.php?pageid=bullyin gstories4. 7 Bucket Filler Activity When you are a bucket filler you:  Give compliments  Help others  Treat others the way you want to be treated When you are a bucket dipper you:  Gossip or start rumors  Don’t help others  Treat others in a mean way http://sanctuarycounseling.com/the_power_of _compliment/

9 How to Handle Bullying  Address the issue  Create a “Safe Box”  Create a bullying campaign  Stand up for others

10 How to Prevent Bullying…  Set a good example  Adopt a healthy mindset  Empower yourself and others to be good witnesses
