The regular simple past verb ending has three sounds: T / D / ID. It depends on the last sound of the base form of the verb.
It’ s pronounced T after the voiceless sounds:
F: Laugh. She laughed a lot with your joke.
K: Like. We liked their new house.
P: Hope. They hoped that.
S: Cross. I crossed that river.
∫: Wash. My mother washed my clothes.
T∫: Watched. Tony watched TV last weekend.

4. The final sound is pronounced D after vowel sounds.
Stay: We stayed at my sister’s house.
Die: He died two years ago.
Snow: It snowed a lot last winter.

5. The final sound is pronounced ID after:
T: Visit She visited her parents yesterday.
D: End. The movie ended at 10:00.
