Life changed a lot after WWI. People wanted to have fun. Entertainment Radio was broadcasting music and shows. Jazz was the new music. Louis Armstrong & Bessie Smith Movies were adding voices. Charlie Chaplin & Clara Bow Harlem Renaissance allowed African American artists, writers and musicians to show what they could do. Sports were beginning. Consumerism People now had money and free time. A new idea called “installment buying” was created. Cars – Henry Ford started building with the assembly line. Because of mass production the costs were kept down. Many could afford a car.
