How to Use Color Backgrounds- Usually a light color is best Should have a color based on a theme or plan Can have a dark background if… Part of your theme Drawing attention to a certain page Could also use frames to separate sections to show emphasis

How to Use Color (con’t) Text- Usually dark color Should be part of a theme or plan Shouldn’t change more than a few times on your entire page-No alternating Create all titles the same, all main text a different but same color

How to Use Color (con’t) Hyperlinks- Can have a different color for… “To be clicked” links “Hover” links “Been clicked” links Again, do not alternate! Make all “to be clicked” the same color on all pages

Types of Color 16 Basic Colors Aqua, Black, Blue, Fuchsia, Gray, Green, Lime, Maroon, Navy, Olive, Purple, Silver, Teal, White & Yellow Can be seen on browsers without issue Hexadecimal Specifying the RGB (red-green-blue) values in each color 6 digit value, can include letters or numbers

Problems with Colors Not all monitors see the same amount of colors The “16 Colors” are safe thought Hexadecimal, might not be
