60% of all 2 nd & 3 rd grade students are scoring basic, below basic and far below basic. 36 SAUSD elementary schools identified for program improvement 20 of those schools have qualified for Supplemental Educational Services (SES) SAUSD has 2,662 out of 6,373 students in a waiting list to receive those services. 3 parent workshops and 2 sessions of each were held at different sites 120 parents participated per workshop. 14 literacy sessions took place per site, totaling 84 sessions all together 15 Tutors participated in the program 120 students participated 120 book bags with a book and reading log were created and given to students on a weekly basis.
