2. Birth Life Louis was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was 5 when his mother and father separated- Willie and Mary Ann Armstrong.

3. Middle life By 7 years old he was already working to help support his family. He would sing, and doing work with a junk wagon owned by Russian Jewish immigrants.

7. Later Life He continued to sing and play his intrument.
