1. Kindness (Gal. 5:22 ASV).

3. Easy (Mt. 11:30).
4. Gracious (1 Pet. 2:3).
5. Mercy (Ps. 25:10).
B. Fit for use, good; in contrast venomous, bitterness, destructive (Rom. 3:12-18).
C. Goodness in action; contrasted with indignation & severity (Rom. 11:22)

II. GOD’S KINDNESS
A. Conditional (Rom. 11:22).
B. Leads us to repentance (Rom. 2:4).
C. Shown through teaching (Ps. 25:4, 10).
D. Provides motivation for righteous living (Ps. 26:2-12; 1 Pet. 2:4).
E. Is contrasted with severity, but does not eliminate it (Rom. 11:22).

III. THE PLACE FOR KINDNESS IN OUR LIVES
A. Need to be gracious to others (Col. 3:12-13).
B. The apostle Paul’s preference for kindness (2 Cor. 6:6) did not eliminate the need for rebuke (Gal. 2:11-12, 14).
C. Teaching requires kindness (2 Tim. 2:24) and at times sharpness (Titus 1:13).
D. Parents are to show kindness (1 Thess. 2:7) and at times severity (Prv. 23:13-14; Eph. 6:4).

CONCLUSION:
1) Kindness is goodness in actions.
2) God’s kindness is instructive.
3) Kindness is a needful part of godly character in us.
