3 Advisory Council Purpose:  To provide feedback to the School Counseling Program in an effort to enhance achievement of every student.

4 Mission Statement “The mission of the Fannie W. Fitzgerald Elementary School Counseling Program is to prepare all students in the domains of academics, personal/social, and career readiness to contribute at the highest levels as productive members of society through our comprehensive school counseling program. This is achieved through partnership of empowered students, educators, parents or guardians, and the community responsible for the learning process. The professional school counselors provide this support with fidelity by advocating for equity and access to maximize student success and academic achievement for every student.

6 Role of a Counselor Individual Counseling Small Groups  Social Skills, Anger Management, Changing Families, Self-Esteem, Test-Taking, Anxieties/Worry Group. Guidance Lesson Plans  12 lessons per year  Family Life Education: Hygiene, Safe Alone, Safe at Home, and Puberty Lessons, in addition to Middle School Specialty Programs. Partnership with Community Organizations (ACTS food Drive/Un-Trim-A-Tree/Churches/Private Donors - School supplies)
