Like inches, meters and miles, a micron is a unit of measurement for distance. There are about 25,000 microns in an inch. 25. The Potala Palace in Lhasa, Tibet has served as the Dalai Lama’s official residence since the 7 th century. The 14 th Dalai Lama fled the palace during the 1959 Tibetan rebellion against China. He lives in exile in India today.
