Dear Journal, The morning was cloudy, I tried to keep myself comfortable while walking. There was a large amount of rain last night. The wind is hard from the North west. We leave at sunrise and continue the path we started yesterday. Sincerely, Lewis Wednesday June 5 th, 1805

Dear Journal, We had a little rain and snow last night. Now, the air’s very cold and it’s raining a little. We saw 8 buffalo, they attempted to cross, but they did not succeed. Three white bears came to our camp, so we killed them. We ate part of one, then set out. Sincerely, Clark Wednesday June 5 th, 1805

Dear Journal, I’m starting to think this branch of the Missouri is too much North for the route to be Pacific. I should now take observations of the moon’s Meridian Altitude to fix the latitude. Sincerely, Lewis Thursday June 6 th, 1805

Dear Journal, It’s another cloudy day, with strong winds from the North east. We set out early, following the river which is the exact way of our course. On this river we killed 7 deer for their skins. Sincerely, Clark Thursday June 6 th, 1805

Dear Journal, It continued to rain, making us feel like we had a restless night. We set out early, leaving our wet beds, and continuing to follow our route down the river. We killed several animals for food along the way. Oh what I’d do for a dry bed and some good food. Sincerely, Lewis Friday June 7 th, 1805

Dear Journal, The Thermometer was 40° above 0, it allowed some men to hunt for a short time today. The rain continued. We caught a small amount of food. Lewis has yet to return. Sincerely, Clark Friday June 7 th, 1805

Dear Journal, It kept raining. We set out at sunrise, and walked along the river, as yesterday. Although, today’s roads were better than yesterdays. Soon, the sun began to shine and the birds were happy. I’ve observed many different birds. Sincerely, Lewis Saturday June 8 th, 1805

Dear Journal, It rained moderately all night and some this morning until 10 O'clock. Lewis went to examine the North part of Missouri. Sincerely, Clark Saturday June 8 th, 1805
