Working Drawings A working drawing is the final ‘constructed’ drawing, produced as part of the design process.
5
5 Things a Working Drawing Tells Us
Shape Size of Objects Types of material that object is constructed of Finish of Objects Assembly
6
Working Drawings Usually consists of a front, side and plan view of the solution. Sometimes there are two views but this depends on the complexity of the solution.
7
Working Drawings Dimensions are added so that any person using the working drawing can manufacture the design.
8
Working Drawings Usually there are at least six dimensions but you can add as many as you feel are required in order for the manufacturer to make your solution.
9
Working Drawings Drawing should be precise and drawn to a scale.
If the drawing is full size of the solution then the scale is 1:1. If the drawing is half the size of the solution then the scale is 1:2. If the drawing is a 3rd the size of the solution then the scale is 1:3.
10
Working Drawings Object lines should be darkest
Dimension lines and annotated notes should be considerably lighter
