Transportation Legislation Act 380 by Landry, T. – Money from the Transportation Trust Fund (TTF) to the State Police shall not exceed $51.6 million for fiscal year 2015-2016, $20 million for Fiscal Year 2016-2017, and $10 million for Fiscal Year 2017-2018 and each fiscal year thereafter. (Effective 8/1/15) Act 348 by Connick – Requires use toll credits earned from the Crescent City Connection Bridge for the Crescent City Connection Bridge itself, the Westbank Expressway or its approaches, the La. Hwy. 23 bridge and tunnel replacement project, the Fourth Street extension, or any combination thereof, and for no other purpose. (Effective 1/1/15)

8. Transportation Legislation Act 431 by St. Germain – Creates the La. State Transportation Infrastructure Bank and the La. State Transportation. – Infrastructure Fund – Effective 8/1/15

9. Transportation Legislation Act 257 by Adley – Provides for an increase in the base amount of mineral revenues state receives prior to annual deposit into the Budget Stabilization Fund. (Effective 6/29/15) Act 275 by Adley – This bill removes the "trigger" for the motor vehicle sales tax, but allows for the state general fund to retain most of these dollars in exchange of giving up to $100 million for transportation funds, but removes the Transportation Mobility Fund. (Passed 6/29/15)

10. Constitutional Amendments Act 471 by St. Germain (passed) – To authorize public funds to be used to invest in a state infrastructure bank for eligible transportation projects. Statewide election to beheld on Oct. 24, 2015. Act 473 by Adley (failed) – To rename the Budget Stabilization Fund to the Budget and Transportation Stabilization Trust and to provide for use of monies in the fund.

Federal Highway Trust Fund House Passes $325 Billion Bill The bill authorizes approximately $325 billion over six years (FY 2016 - FY 2021) for the federal highway, transit and highway safety programs. The House measure must now be reconciled with a Senate version adopted earlier this year. Congressman Garret Graves is a conferee on the conference committee

37. Safety Progress Since 2008, more than 2,100 miles of centerline rumble strips installed 75 new traffic cameras installed 900 interstate miles of enhanced mile markers installed 22 roundabouts constructed statewide

38. Fatalities On all Louisiana roadways: In 2008: 916 traffic- related fatalities In 2014: 737 traffic- related fatalities

39. Destination Zero Deaths All behavioral projects have been made possible through the partnerships DOTD has under the Destination Zero Deaths initiatives. DOTD’s Strategic Highway Safety Plan has brought us all together working toward a common goal. It’ll take more than engineers to reach zero!
