Volume of Right Prisms with Polygon Faces
2
Right Prisms Any prism that has two polygon faces that are parallel is considered a right prism. They are named by the polygon that makes up the face. Rectangular Prisms have two rectangles as the polygon that makes the base Triangular Prisms have two triangles as the polygon that makes the base.
3
Finding the Volume of Prisms
To find the volume of any right prism, find the area of the face and multiply by the depth.
4
Triangular Prisms Area of the triangular face : 4 · 3 2 = 6cm²
Area of the base multiplied by depth = volume 6cm² · 11cm = 66cm³
