Notes Science Rocket Technology
Space Exploration and SPI 0807.T/E 1 to 4 Notes Science Rocket Technology Fact: Aircraft with jet engines or propellers can not travel in space because there is no air! Fact: Rockets can travel in space because they do not require air (Newton’s 3rd Law of Motion) Fact: Newton’s 3rd Law of Motion states this: For every action (force), there is an equal and opposite action (force). This is how the chemical reaction exhaust from the tail of a rocket enables the rocket to move forward.

Primitive Rocket Technology
Space Exploration and SPI 0807.T/E 1 to 4 Notes Science Primitive Rocket Technology (China-around 1232 B.C.)

Apollo Program and Moon Landings
Fact: Under president Eisenhower on July 29, 1958 congress created N.A.S.A. (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) Fact: By placing the very first satellite in orbit (Sputnik), the USSR was ahead in the space race. So JFK committed the USA in 1961 to landing a man on the moon before 1970. Sputnik Satellite Fact: NASA’s Apollo program landed on the moon in 1969.
