Resource Stewardship Monitoring What Worked: Protocol –Well written, easy to follow and a great guide Strategic Level Support –Provided guidance and funding Training –Very appropriate, much preferred the training locally Quality Control –Very helpful, good advice and guidance

Resource Stewardship Monitoring What did not work? Sample Selection »Received in June 2005 (after training) »Blocks were selected based on latest approved date rather than date of disturbance Operational (field level) support Soils sample selection and data collection

Resource Stewardship Monitoring Objective Specific Issues: Riparian –Checklist may not be appropriate for S5 and S6 streams Biodiversity –Need to consider other values/objectives Soils –May require alternative approaches (aerial photo vs no aerial photo) –Current system is complex, subjective and time consuming Integrating the program – working/coordinating with other agencies and other protocol development
